Editorial independence

Our editorial choices — which products we recommend, how we evaluate vendors, what we say about pet care pricing — are not influenced by affiliate commissions. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive mentions.

When we recommend a product or service, it's because we genuinely believe it's a good option. We regularly recommend products we earn nothing from, and we regularly warn readers away from products we could have profited from (high-pressure pet insurance plans, overpriced premium kibble lines, pet store payment plans).

Sponsored content

If any article or section is sponsored (paid for by a specific brand), it will be clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "Partnership." To date we have published zero sponsored content. Any future sponsored content will be labeled before publication.

Pricing ranges, industry averages, and market statistics on our Site are drawn from:

• Publicly available pet insurance quotes and provider websites
• AVMA, APPA, and ASPCA cost reports
• Veterinary clinic price lists, Chewy/Petco product pricing
• Conversations with vets, groomers, sitters, and pet parents in our network
• General market knowledge of pet care pricing as of 2026
